That's a great idea!
We know that medieval armours were of varying thickness,
and I think that your method translates perfectly to combat
armour.

Nodding.......one reason I use the welded center crease with the copper backing. The outside of the cop and wing take the most beating-so I made it stiffer. It's still not as good as a hand raised piece, like Patrick or Ugo can make, but I can do it for a much more reasonable price.
I also try to make my patterns with inside cuts that give enough for good overlap, but reduce excess wieght. I'm going to be reworking my patterns until I have very tight swings, and lines as close to origionals as possible. I'll be doing some one-piece pressed Gothic knees next. 14 gage cops, 16 the rest, four lames to a side-lots of flutes.
This style is pretty much the "economy model". But even munition grade armor should LOOK medieval, no?

As per our PM conversation, Mr. InfinitySteel...
For now consider one of the pairs of these sold.
