WTB Shield Bosses

Hi. I'd like to buy two identical, round shield bosses - just smooth round domes. I'd like stainless if I can get it. Since I haven't decided on whether or not to rivet them to the shields, I'd like them to not have any holes when I get them.

Who's got 'em?

We have 5 1/2" Stainless steel, and 5 1/2" and 7 inch Mild steel ones in stock. You can order them with the holes filled.

Hmmm. Certainly pretty, but is 18 gauge stainless tough enough to protect some of my favorite knuckles?

That has got to be a typo on his new web page. I have one of the large stainless from windrose and it is at least 16 if not 14 guage. Oh it protects my favorite knuckles quite well. After two years of fighting with it, it does have a few dents 8) but still very servicable. I highly recommend them.

Hi I make 14ga stainless bosses. They're hammered and not spun. No holes. As identical as possible when making something by hand.

See my site for pics and prices.

I'll throw a gauge on one today, but I am pretty sure the stainless ones are 18 gauge, and have been the same thickness for at least the last 6 or 8 years we have been selling them, for Mandrake Armory, and now AS Mandrake. We've sold hundreds of them in that time, and they hold up pretty well.

I have no trouble trusting my hands to 18 gauge stainless gauntlets, I would have a lot less trouble trusting that in a boss, where there is less dead impact. And an extra pound saved in any shield is fine with me about half way through a practice. :)
