Hm, Windrose seems to have gotten Mandrake up and running, I think I will look there, thanks!

Bryce, I highly recommend Windrose. Have gotten my last 2 shields from them, and send my squires to them, when they need shields.

I just ordered a monstrously large kite from them. Might as well have the right shield for the helm...

I'm excited. I'm ready for a change....

In general, I also highly recommend Windrose for just about anything. I fight in a pair of thier knees and consider them some of the best armour I have ever worn. Sir Johannes is also a gentleman and a pleasure to do business with. (They sold my Cd's for me at Pennsic this year.)

I'm very pleased to be making yet another purchase with them. :D

Actually, I just finally got a 12c helm to go with the 12c persona I have had for 16+ years. :-)

Helm is by Alan at ABHammer/IceFalcon (used, this is a third generation hand me down believe it or not!). I should also have my new conical norman from Eldred sometime soon too....then I shall pimp in style!

Here are some pictures from Ursus:

and one from Crusades from Lady Lidia....

Lol, I remember seeing those pics on Ursus site, and thinking to myself Uilleag has a nice helm. :p

Very cool

If I ever do another personna from my 5th century Roman-brit, it will be around one of the crusades. Almost thought about having my new helm done in around that style, but talked myself back into what I really wanted to do.

That period will just be my alternate personna if I ever do another one.

Well, you were right, humongous!

I am hoping I got the shape you were after, it is actually bigger than our layout tools. If not, let me know before we ship it on Friday (oversize charges will make this a pricey one to have to have you send back!)

As long as it makes Vitus's head spin off....

Yeah, it's perfect Sir. Thanks so much!

That looks amazing! What are the dimensions of that, Sir? (from an envious 12th century guy)

It is 1/6th of an entire sheet of 6061 T-6 aluminum, 24 x 48. I had to have help putting the edge holes in because I couldn't handle it in the punch by myself.

Wrapped and ready, will ship tomorrow. Thanks!

That looks about right. I have been looking around for people who are willing to go bigger than 24"x36" (I have a 24"x42" wooden one). May I ask how much it cost?

A shield that size would be $84 without the edging holes, those cost extra. Shipping on a shield this big can be painful, but we shop all the shippers to find the best rate for you. Fedex Ground has been winning alot lately...

Here is a linkto the shield section on our site, we normally turn them around in less than ten days.
