WTB Basinet

Post by ticeetal »

Greetings all,

I am in the market for a new basinet for living history and SCA heavies use. Preferably 14 g. mild or spring steel as opposed to stainless. The various venders I’ve looked at all appear to be selling the same items. If that is the case whom would you recommend from the list for authenticity, quality, price, customer service, overall safety, and such. Or are there others who you would recommend and have good dealings with?

Thanks,
Odeane

Post by ticeetal »

<<BUMP>><<Sort of>>>

Besides the basinet question, I have a friend who is just gotting started, and needs to get a good first helm in time for Estrialla.

He is taller than most 6'08" and needs a helm which will fit a 25" head. any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Odeane

re: your first post, I think most of the ones you have listed would be Indian manufacture. I would go with Forth although I've not had any personal experience.

RE: your friend. Have him contact (Sc)Otto www.ottosarmoury.com I've yet to order my helmet from him but the last I heard he was slow enough that he should be able to complete a helmet by Estrella.

Ticeetal,

We can help your friend if he gets his order in soon. I am sure we can have it ready for Estrella....
