Remember that they are for special occasions- they are not made of aluminum. I would make a slightly heavier shield with hose edging for weekly practice.
You like smaller shields, so that approach should be easy. Just lay down one of the shields I sent you as a pattern, trace it and make a heavier shield that will strengthen your arm.

I understand. I don't expect them to hold up like an aluminum shield, but they'll certainly last longer than the plywood shields I was making. Even with wood hardener and substantial edging my shields were lasting maybe two practices.

I have an aluminum one I use right now, but I wanted something different/better, especially for special tournaments.
