Inspired by Purses and Pieces and a picture in the Manesse Codex, a drawstring purse/pouch in a style found over several centuries (Goubitz says the rectangular variety goes back to the 13th century) and worn by ladies as well as men.

This version uses a double drawstring and attaches the hang strap by threading the drawstrings through it. Pull tabs reinforce the drawstring holes on the ends and provide aid in opening the pouch, while wooden beads on the drawstrings aid in pulling it closed.

The pictured pouch is about 9.5 inches tall and 7 inches wide. The overall shape is rectangular and my rather large hand fits in through the top without difficulty.

$25, plus shipping.
