A review of Andrew Young THUMBS UP !!!!!!!!

Post by Pietro di Trento »

I saw the thread where Andrew was selling a CoP with A fauld waaaaaay back whenever he first put it up. He offered it to me then but I didn't have the Money. I guess a few months later the armor Gods decided to give me another chance and Andrew once again tried to Sell the CoP. I was second in-line for it, luckily the gentleman who originally called dibs on it rescinded and it was offered again to me. I figured it was a sign but I once again didn't have the money. I asked Andrew if he could wait a week or so for the payment he agreed. I guess that is the week when he started having health problems I didn't have a pay pal address to send him the payment. I wrote to him like three times waiting for an address and then when he did respond I had used the money for the CoP I asked once again if he could wait patiently and he did another week to be exact. which once a again he did I sent the payment and didn't get a response from him for about a week. I started to get a lil worried because of the recent troubles and thread about him he assured me my CoP was on it's way. I was still a lil doubtful but I hadn't read anything negative about him until recently so I remained calm.

Well that patience is finally at an end I received the CoP today I extremely pleased with it and it fits me awesome I swear I was destined to have this one lol :D The craftsmanship is awesome and it is comfortable I love I can't wait to fight in it. I was understanding and calm during this whole drama and because of Andrew's patience I was able to own this Sometimes it goes both way for a sucessful transaction and this was very successful I would and will happily do business with him again.

Until jmperez chimes in,

I can tell you that it did go out the day I said it would.

And I said it would take about a week, and it did.

It went out the same time about 30 packages went out.

Chef de Chambes arrived super early which was odd.

Most of them took about a week.

As far as the armour goes it was a pretty old piece I made
for purely SCA sport fighting (not living history) about 1996...
This one has aluminum plates for example. I remember sewing the scales when that plane from NY airport bound for Paris crashed. But its been kept in good condition.

Here are some pictures of it:

I thought I would chime in on my positive experience with Andrew Young. I ordered a highly accurate replica of Darth Vader's helmet. This helmet is valued at about $1000.00 and it is worth every penny. I am extremely impressed with every detail of this helmet. The paint job is superb and the fine details of the metal parts are superb. I cannot say enough good things about the helmet. If I am ever in the market or another similar helmet I will definitely go back to Drew.

My experience with Andrew has been excellent and the only reason I have nothing on order with him at this time is lack of money on my part.

Despite the fact that I was just "window shopping" Andrew took time to discuss with me issues of materials and prices, as well as delivery times and historicity. And the communication was superb.

There is no doubt that I will get him to make me something (I am coveting some bronze/brass greaves) when I have the funds.

Just my experience.

Many kind thanks Jmperez ! :)

Your patience is redeemable for future orders I should note.

You may need a friend to help you...however what I used to do is strap up the top back plate...put my head inside the straps....connect the bottom straps first.....then the angled upper straps. Many COPS --heck a lot of armour requires a friend or squire.

No Problem and I would like to add that I have been through a similar surgery and it sucks ass. Andrew has also been quick to respond to any PM's I have sent him since his recovery
