Phrygian/Norman Shovel Face helm for Sale--$300 OBO

Post by Gareth of Exeter »

Made of 14ga Mild Steel
Outside Circumference of helm about the brow line is 30"
Front to back inside the helm is 10 3/4 inches.
Side to side inside the helm is 8 inches.
From top of eye to bottom point of face plate is 7 7/8 inches.
from bottom of eye to bottom point of face plate is 5 7/8 inches.

The helmet was made by His Grace Tristram of Lindesfarne from Calontir in April 2004. I used the helmet only a handful of times. I had a camail/aventail of butted mail hooked to it, but have removed it in order to clean the helm up a bit. You can see the holes in the bottom back plate of the helm where the camail was hooked. The helmet is made of 14 gauge steel. It obviously could be cleaned up more, as there is some rust and pitting in places. I'm selling it because it doesn't fit me.

Pics to follow

Thanks.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

Gareth,

It's a beautiful helm, but I'm gonna have to let it go for now...there's and AR-15 calling my name at the local gun shop :)
