Finding equipment in the oddest places

Well I have been looking for a baking oven much like they use in subway to bake their bread. I mean how much better could it be for baking large numbers of leather items? Rows of racks, convection heating, air only or heat. But one thing that occurred to me was that I didn't really need all that heat. The highest I go is 180 degrees. So while doing some browsing at the local used restaurant equipment store I found something called a dough proofer. 6 foot cabinet with rack for sheet trays. Heating that maxes out at 180 to 200 degrees. I gave them quite a surprise when I told them what I would be using it for :-)

I can't afford it right now, but at least I have another goal to save my pennies for.

I love freaking the mundanes.

I needed some shield edging, so i head to PetCo.

me: "i need the biggest rawhide chew toy you have. IN fact, i'd like two or three of them..."

sales lady: "...what, you breed great danes or somethin'?"

me: "well... yes, but some of them are norman, not vikin... nevermind. "
