recently ordered stainless steel kit from Stonekeep, has anyone had any history w/ this armourer. How is his quality and has anyone had problems w/ turn-around on orders?

I have three Stonekeep items, legs and "butterfly" spaulders in spring steel, and a pair of splinted arms with the cops and lames in mild. I'm quite pleased with the quality of all three. The lames will occasionally pop open when kneeling on the legs, but that's the only performance issue. Excellent materials used, right down to the leather for the straps.

I can't really speak to the turnaround time. Both the spring steel pieces were bought as in-stock items (and were shipped promptly), and the arms were purchased from another Archiver. I have a pair of full spring steel arms ordered, and they're going to take a while, but Michael was very up front about that (spring is time-consuming, and he has a complicated order ahead of it in line).

I'd do business with Stonekeep again, without the slightest hesitation.

Oh, and while I'll make a new thread for this soon, I'm going to sell those splinted arms when the spring ones arrive. I've decided against making an "alternate persona" 14th Century kit, so I won't need them. Medium size, almost new condition...$75 plus shipping!

I just ordered a few pieces and got them within a few weeks. He even emailed me to ask if I was sure of my measurements.

I almost sprained my hand starting a response to the arms, then re-read and saw they weren't spring. (Yeah, I know, the spring would cost substantially more. That's why I nearly hurt myself. )

All my dealings with Stonekeep have been top knotch. I've always ordered stock parts, and they've been here in days. A member of my Barony ordered a helmet, and it's rock solid. [/quote]

How do you like the Butterfly spring spaulders? Thinking about getting a pair of those myself.

Simply fantastic! They are "transparent." That is to say, you don't really notice that they're there, until someone gets a shot in on them, and you realize it went "clang" and not "ouch!" For my early 16th Century rig, they're a visual compromise (should be full pauldrons). But they're nice looking in their own right, and they don't really look so horribly out of place.

I have a pair of his spaulders from a sale on the archive. I love them. Shipping was fast, communication was good, product was excellent.

I'd buy from him again in a heartbeat.

I also have had nothing but positive dealings with him. He has emailed to verify sizes with me also when he thought something looked odd.
