Sugarloaf dating, and representations thereof

Post by Payn »

Was looking through old threads (like this one http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=71881) and was stumped trying to find later representations of sugarloafs. Lutrell and Romance of Alexander seem to show up as the most cited. I am wondering if folks know of any other artwork or effigies (english preferred) that run later than 1340. 1350-1360 would be bestest, but I have not much hope.

What I am trying to see, is if there is any overlap in globose styled covered body armour with sugarloaf helmets. I know that a Pembridge style great helm would be far more common, just trying to sort out other options.
SCA Payn D'Spencer Of Warboys. Barony of Madrone. Giving hope to the squires of AnTir.

I think you're going to be out of luck on this one.
