The second one you got from me, probably.

Boccace, de Mulieribus Claris Français 598, fol. 103v,
Busa Faisant l'Aumône
Do you not know that in the service... one must always choose the lesser of two weevils?

I'd also be really interested in learning where that first one is from.

Actually, here's two more that are a mystery to me:

From the two additional images, the second is of the Battle of Poitiers and is from British Library MS Cotton Nero E.II

The 4th of James's images is from a french Bible Historiale of the early 15th century or very very late 14th (Hezekiah destroying the brazen serpent) but IDK which one.

Ah! Okay, in that case, it's BNF Fr. 9, fol. 179v (beginning of the 15th century).

Does anyone know how to navigate the BNF website? I am trying to poke around it to look at more manuscript images and get more of the information about the images Karen linked but I am having no luck figuring out their website.

I wrote a summary on how to search Mandragore for manuscripts in this post: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=132250&p=1954921#p1954921

To get more information about a manuscript in particular -- let's say you're wanting information about the aforementioned BNF Fr 264, fol. 229v -- go to http://mandragore.bnf.fr/jsp/rechercheExperte.jsp and in the line marked "Cote" enter in Français 264 and then click the button that says "Chercher."

That will get you to an overview of information about the manuscript; clicking on "Images" gets you graphics of each of the pages they've got on their system, clicking on "Légendes" will get a list of the image captions.

If you know the particular illustration you want to go to -- again, using the aforementioned example -- go to http://mandragore.bnf.fr/jsp/rechercheExperte.jsp and at the line for "Cote" enter Français 264 and at the line for "Folio" enter 229v -- again click "Chercher."

This takes you to a page that just has the caption for the image ("romains livrant leur armes aux samnites"); if you click on the little image icon next to it, you'll be able to see the image too.
