Get a copy of "The Bowyers Bible" if interested in making one.

Billets and staves can be ordered to make a longbow.
Otherwise a good D stave self bow out of yew runs usually between $600 - $1000. You should know in advance what poundage you want as they are made to order items.
www.woodbow.comPaul makes a wonderful, textured naturally to the grain, english warbow with or without horn nocks. He made one for us for living history use. 104 lbs at 28 inches. This is NOT one you shoot casually.
www.donadamsarchery.comDon's bows are narrower and more modern in thickness. And they are sanded to a beautiful finish and very even. A far more aesthetically pleasing bow, lighter, etc.

well I happen to be an archery fanatic.
Try looking at the website for the magazine Traditional Archery. Loads of ads and sources for people who seel longbows. Or just post back and I can look up some of my links and email them to you if interetsed
