For the boat people, and a pic of my soon to be trebuchet

So, i figured this would be an apropirate place for most of these pics.

the boat is my grandfathers project, thats him in the first pic.

anyways, it's 100% made from scratch, right down to most of the ropes being made up from smaller string.scarry eh?

each plank on the deck is individually laid and naile in place, the brass deck cannons are functional, and will launch a bb pretty damn good.
uhm, the rigging all works, actually he has it set up to be remote controlled. still wind powered though.
THAT scares me. no prob, but you can sail it by remote.

but yea, back to the important stuff.

it's right about 6 feet tall, weighs in at a little over 100 lbs i think it's a scale model of the soverign of the seas, and has been 4 years in the making.

it's been sailed once, and worked great, untill a storng breeze caught it, then it capzised... forgot to take into acount that a strong breeze wuld be equivelent to a typhoon.

and the catapult, well, i lost the other pics somehow, but it's about 2/3 finished, we need to shrink the box a bit. or a lot... uhm, and put on all the fireing hardwear, Oh yea, and finish the bottom suports and the trough.

it's got a 6 foor throwing arm, and a 4 foot base, it;s mde form 4x4's and 2x10's.

hosting thanks to my best friend, uhm, and be carefull the pics are individual links, but they are a bit big

I agree with chef, your grandfathers work is amazing, the ship will truly become a family
heirloom. I used to build and race 1/4 and 1/8 scale hydros and the kits they came in were basically little lumberyards. My hat is off to you Grandfather.
