Hi, I am new to this forum, and new to armour studies. I am writing a dissertation about an household account containing a list of pieces of arms and armour purchased by John of Mowbray at the beginning of the 15th century.
Do you know what a pair of "cirotecarum" might be? A friend of mine pionted out that it might come from Chiroteca, late Latin for 'gloves' and it makes sense. But I want to be sure of how this gloves looked like, if they were made of plate or other material, and if there is any entry for the word in any Medieval Latin dictionaries.
Thanks in advance for your help.
