Depends on whether you want to know the "how" or the "what".

Dover book has "Chellini's Workshop Manual" in English translation. It is certainly an interesting read and does go into a couple of forms of hollow-ware and casting.
Of course, you have to put up with Chellini telling you that he is the bestest, greatest and most perfect jeweller, sculptor, cutler, silversmith, gemcutter, armourer, painter, poet, lover, writer, diplomat, soldier, architect, spy, tactitian.....etc, etc, etc that ever lived.

Hi Sasha, thanks for the lead on the Chellini book. I'm mainly looking for info on "what" as I've got some good refrences on "how". I'd like to do some small pieces in copper alloys or maybe pewter as a change of pace from armour and if I'm gonna do them I'd like to do them based on period styles.
