what would be a proper helm for a German knight from 1350 - 1370?
I'm thinking a nice sugarloaf. Am I wrong?
Any authanticity experts on this subject?

I think thats a little late for the sugarloaf, though i could be wrong. I would say your more likely to be looking at using a bascinet, either open faced, breteche, or with a klappvisor. Theres a thread that discusses a german harness circa 1375 that i'll provide a link to, and most of what is stated there is accurate for your period as well.

I'm fairly certain you'll want a bascinet. Probably with a globose-style klappvisier, though if face-protection isn't an issue a breteche would be appropriate for the earlier part of your time span.
