I'm looking for any internet research links for the time periods between 1170-1190s armour, history, during Richard the Lionhearts period. His crusades and death. Thanks for the help!

Lubricant, can you get to a library? I would highly recommend Sir Stephen Runciman's "History of the Crusades". It won't tell you about arms and armour, but will give a LOT of info about what happened and why, and an insight into Richard's character. What "1066 and All That" would call "A Good King, but a Bad Man".
Was it you I sent stuff to about 12th century arms and armour recently? The thread seems to have vanished . . .

You can't go too far wrong with Durant.
Will and Ariel Durant, "The Story of Civilization" volume IV - "The Age of Faith"
Awesome series. It will keep you busy for MONTHS.

Another book worth looking at although not quite as in depth is "The Atlas of the Crusades" by Jonathon Riley-Smith. Decent maps in it showing migration/crusade routes.
