I understand that the Persona-In-A-Box essays are supposed to be college level if possible, references etc given. However, would it be useful to make a list of "books to really read" on specific subjects on a page here on the Archive? I want to learn about the Muslim faris, how Templars were really equipped (T-Bob's lamellar threw me for a loop, but he certainly has gained my respect for his research), what byzantines used, etc.

I understand that several particularly vocal members here are of the "get your own sources from your own sweat and grief" mind. Well and good, but recommended titles might give people a better foundation to research from to get a good picture of their topic.

Here is a hefty chunk of reading. I cannot say that I have made much headway but it is a mighty goal....
