Designs used on Norman kite shields

I'm sure that heraldry wasnt about at the time of the Norman fighter with the kite shield, however I read that they had various designs on them. What I'd like to know is what were these designs so I can either copy them directly or adapt one of them slightly to my own norman kite shield design. Any links or images would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are thinking of doing anything to do with the Normans or Saxons, indeed, anyone in Western Europe in the 11th C, you need to study this in great detail.
