The Order of the Hatchit
Hi all I am having trouble locating infomation on The Order of the Hatchit.
1149.
I would like to find out what what it was they wore that showed them as the order. I so far have that they were assigned a Dadge, a thing like a Fryars Capouche, sharp at the top after a form of a Torch and crimson in color.
Ok what is a Dadge?
and Fryars Capouche?
if any one has a web site, or information on the ladies of Hatchit I would be greatful.
Thanks

ORDER OF THE LADIES OF THE HATCHET.
This order was created in 1149 by Ramon Berenguer, count of Barcelona, in honor of the women of Tortosa who saved the city, uniting its feminine efforts to the troops who defended it. Thanks to the effort and the delivery of these women, the Christian troops managed to repulse the attack of the Moors, whom they had to raise the siege and to flee shamefully. The device of this order was an axe [Hatchet] of gules (red) placed in pale (partition) on a short hooded cape.
ORDEN DE LAS DAMAS DEL HACHA.
La divisa de esta orden fue un hacha de gules puesta en pal sobre una especia de esclavina.
Also capucha is Spanish for hood. Therefore a hooded capelet.
"Also very popular at this time was a cape with only an opening for the head, topped by a hood; women preferred a shorter version of the cloak, similar to a modern-day poncho."

As for Dadge, don't they make Hemi powered trucks?
