So I have a set of pale yellow hose made. Now I need to make the doublet to go with it.

Suggestions for color?

I am going for mid-late 15th century English by the way.

Red or Blue. Either in a brilliant bright such as cardinal red or azure blue, or rich dark, such as burgundy or navy.

Green also works.

id choose blue but thats just me ;) Dirt and general wear and tear might show up a little less with a darker color. Just something to consider.

Match the color to your eyes. I f blue..go blue...If green..go green and if brown go a dark rich red...Might as well look good.

With pale yellow try a pale blue or dove grey, a color with the same intensity, but good contrast. Intense colors will wash out the hosen.

The red and yellow combination can be dangerous ... you can end up looking like a walking McDonalds ad.

Just do your best to avoid the yellow "chicken legs" look! (anything with feathers is way out). Maybe blue?

A plum or murry (type of purple) color would go nice. Red and yellow always go together but be careful not to look to Ronald MacD. Mustard gold would look nice too. If your yellow is bright then a darker color will set it off well.

My eyes are blue, my hair is brown and I have a gotee if it matters to anyone. :)

I might consider getting a couple of colors.

Thanks!

I would go with the plum or burgundy, the navy blue might be too dark when you get it.

Another thing to consider is the class and station of your portrayal and what the appropriate colors for someone like that would be according to the sumptuary laws of your portrayal's hometown/country of residence.
Best of luck!
