Which Books?

Post by paxleonis »

If you could only have 2 history books in your library, which ones would you choose? Let say one is really old & perhaps out of print and the other is newer or more readily available.

Wow i feel blessed to have a library that contains most of the books you guys want.

Froissart ( i agree it is a great 1st source for the 14th cent)
Sumpton's ok i can see you point but i prefered Allmand's book on the HYW.
I have my Gandfather's copy of Herodotus
and a 20 year old copy of Gibbon.

I could use a copy of de Charney though and Barber & Barker's book never heard of it but i'm loking wht i'm seeing about it on the web, so i'll have to put those two on my B-Day list.

Thank you Gentles all.

Oh, excuse me, I should have said I wanted a E. Bury edition of Gibbon, which I already have.

I have lots more, of course, but that would not be playing correctly.

I agree. Just two is so limiting. :D Everything in my library has some crucial bit buried in it somewhere.

I couldn't choose if you put a matchlock to my head. :D
