The Known World Costuming Seminar will be in Leavenworth, KS in October.
How many of you would be interested in having Kass McGann teach a class on landsknecht garb, assuming she was interested?
Here are some of the patterns she has already come up with:
http://reconstructinghistory.com/patterns/german.html
The Cranach pattern especially interests me, because I requested (okay, I begged, pleaded, and offered her...nevermind...
) that she do the man's outfit before I found out she was working on the woman's.
Maybe she would explain just how she went from the painting Lucas Cranach the Elder did of the Saxons (http://images.google.com/images?q=cranach+saxon&hl=en) to the pattern? The right fabric and materials for the period? Hey! Her patterns are even showing up on a Google search for Cranach and Saxon!!!
Does this possibility excite you as much as it does me?
