looking for review

I'm looking for a reliability check for a source.
the book is:Construction, Decoration and use of arms and armor in al countries and in all times. By George Cameron Stone.

Any reviews?

I think we might actually have it in our library. I'll ask Bob about it.
The general reviews on amazon are that it's probably worth having from a terminology standpoint.

It is good for pictures, and a place to start. Stone wasn't an expert, just an interested party, from what I've heard. The best example I've heard is he was somewhere in the third world, and would hold up a knife, and say "What do you call this?", and they would say "a knife". Then he'd pick up another knife that might be a little different, and ask "What do you call this?" The name he wrote down in his book for it translates as "Another knife".

I wouldn't rely on it for extreme accuracy, as far as dates or anything, but it is worth having in your collection.

It's a good resource due to it's wide breadth but it's accuracy can be lacking.

It is the first place I go when looking up an oddball weapon---like "Bohemian Ear Spoon" but not one I'd quote as documentation without backup.
