HASTINGS XXXVII 10/29/06

Post by Cap'n Atli »

Our 37th annual commemoration of the Battle of Hastings will take place on Sunday, October 29th, 2006 at the University of Maryland on Fraternity Row, within a bowshot (or two) of where we started on the South Chapel Lawn in 1969. Events will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will feature the faering boat Gyrfalcon, and other displays as well as various reenactment activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for both a homecoming and to help the Maryland Medieval Mercenary Militia (our original campus group) kick off their school year with a fun and informative event.

Although it’s a little late in the month for the 940th anniversary, it’s just that we didn’t want to steal the thunder from all the fine groups in England.

Look for me at the faering boat, or in the English line where the Normans lie piled highest.

Might as well give this one a "bump"! I'm planning to be there, with some extra clothing and gear as usual. Any other Archivers coming out?
