Ancient Danish Textiles from Bogs and Burials: A Comparative Study of Costume and Iron Age Textiles- Margrethe Hald 1980
Does anyone have this book?
Is it a good reference book for the period?
Is it worth having?

I was briefly and very grudgingly allowed to borrow a copy from a friend, years ago. All I did was photocopy a few tunic and trouser patterns, unfortunately, since I didn't know enough to realize what I had in my hand. From what little I remember, it could be THE reference source for that period! Suffice it to say that I'm considering crime to get her copy for my own... Well, maybe not, but I DO have to bug her about borrowing it again! In the past year or so I've gotten turned on by Bronze Age textiles and clothing, and am really slavering for new sources.
Of the particulars I remember, it has photos and patterns/drawings of the Thorsbjerg clothing, Kragelund and Moselund Mose tunics, several trapezoidal skin cloaks (all pieced together, very cool!), and a really neat fragment of something that looked for all the world like a checkered tablecloth but was actually patterned by crossed alternating bands of Z-spun and S-spun threads. It probably has a lot more info on the Bronze Age oak coffin burials, which, yeah, I'd kill for right now!
If you've got more money than me, buy it!!
