Why a 'chariot' instead of a 'wagon'? There are two pair of wheels, and they appear to be of slightly different sizes. I'm in a hurry, so I may have missed the obvious. I do wish they'd given a picture of a possible 'reconstruction' to compare it to...

I wonder how much of this is newfound Balkan nationalism and how much serious archeology. 2nd century AD places it firmly in Principate times, at least two generations after Thrace was even a client state, and a four-wheel configuration with wheels that large argues for a transport or travel role. It is completely different from any type of chariot used in the region that we know of, though it has some parallels with Northern European cultic and ceremonial wagons.
I say 49.5% chance it's a Roman-style luxury travelling wagon, 49.5% it's something designed for a cultic or ceremonial function in the region, maybe 1% we're looking at a 'Thracian chariot'.
