I want to throw money at people, but ...

Post by Noe »

... there is no one I can give it to.

Okay, here is the funny thing: In the midst of this miserable economy, my business seems to be growing at a rapid pace. As a matter of fact, it is growing at such a rapid pace that we are running into supply issues, and I have customers backed up and waiting.

My problem is this: I have money to spend, but damned few I can trust to spend it on. Here are my priorities, in no particular order:

1) reliability, as in, "I give you money and you give me armour on the date you say you will."

2) reasonable, non-sporty appearance of the armour.

3) Cheap basic armour: this is what gets me in the nads. The market just won't bear the price of the armourers I can trust. I would really like to do business with Ice Falcon. I consider him the height of reliability, and his stuff looks good. His prices are completely reasonable for what he does and the quality of his armour; it's just that that price plus shipping to Japan, plus my markup puts it above what the current market will bear.

4) I would prefer to buy american first, followed by canadian and australian. Nothing wrong with the other guys and I am happy to do business with them; it's just that I want to give as much business to my countrymen -- or my partners' countrymen -- as possible

Here is what I am looking for:

1) New armour: If you can reliably make armour for orders of 5 to 10 pieces at a batch and get it out on time, for god' sake contact me. Maybe we can work something out.

2) Used armour: Do you need to raise some cash for pensic? Contact me and maybe we can work something out.

3) Gambesons: I am looking for cheap, reliably produced gambesons. Can you do it and get it to me on time? I could buy indian; I just don't want to.

Let me know if you think you have something to offer?

P.S. Please don't bother for plastic armour. I have well-known prejudices. I'll bend a bit for aluminum, but plastic: no.
Bring me my broadsword and clear understanding.

What do you consider "sporty armour"?

Because from your qualifications it sounds like you need to be doing business with Stonekeep. And Known World Treasures for the gambesons.

(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.

Noe,

Find someone with an APO or FPO address. Shipping drops significantly. If you are ordering multiples of anything, I might be able to come down on our prices on some things. Lastly- check out our economy armor. Just as good as the other stuff but without the high polish.

If there is something specific you need that you do not see, let me know and I will try to help you out.

Cheers!

I can see the difficulty Noh is having, the extra hoops to ship are pretty small, and flaming... :)
I have a few shields on the way to him, it will be interesting to see what customs/tarriffs are levied, but from the side of a supplier, I could not ask for a better client.
Communication is A+
His money spends...
And he is very clear on his needs and opinions for product.
Like I said, do business with him, you won't regret it.

His Grace speaks great wisdom here.

I have 5 or so helmets kicking about in Drachenvald that got bought from me by a local knight, and shipped to his buddy knight overseas. IIRC it was about $20-$30 a hat, compared to pretty much the same thing shipping in the states. Maybe a little more.
It looked better in my head....
Damnit.
