Test cutting magazine, newspapers and broomstick

Post by Chan Lancelot »

The magazine was of higher density roll, more difficult to cut than normal newspapers roll. And the broomstick.... well.. nevermind.

Looks like fun. How far would the cut pieces fall if they went over the side of the building

My French friend Jean-Luc Ancelin visited Hong Kong today and after the sparring sessions, I prepared him 3 rolls of newspapers to test cut with. I lent him the Windlass 15th Century longsword and he worked through 1", 2" and 2.5" newspapers rolls beautifully.

What are you using for a central core to support the newspapers?

If they are for others, then perhaps you shouldn't add pepper unless you're confident that most of the people at the potluck enjoy it.

There was no core for the newspapers. They were free standing.

I am downloading your latest videos right now.
Ovbiously I have not seen them yet so no comments.

Looks like I will be back in HK in early 2010.
Dates are still a little vague right now.
I will let you know the dates as things get a more firm.

Has Lung gotten his armour yet?

Hi! I don't think Lung got his armor. He has however injured Howard yesterday and Howard has to admit to hospital today for slight internal bleeding. Lung has been injuring partners many times already so take care if you decided to spar with him.

I guess I should pay more attention, the videos I downloaded were from 20/9/09 not yesterday.
I kept looking and did not see you, you were always running the camera.

I will have to look at the youtube videos when I am home from work.

Who was the guy that dominated most of the 20/09/09 fights?
He was fast, had good timing and controled distance well.
Due to the video quality and the helmet I was not able to tell who he was.

Sorry to hear about Howard
I hope he is well soon and comes back.

I had a much tougher sparring today with my student who practice Chinese martial arts. My vertical cuts were almost all countered with a lethal cut to my neck. :S
