I want to make an awesome linen surcoat for my squire brother with lined dagged sleeves and hem. I'm trying to make square dags. The dag bottoms look fine, but I'm having trouble with the top interior corners. They look terrible. Any helpful hints to get dags to turn better at the top where they connect with the body of the garment?
No, unlined wool is not an option for this.

Crenellated dagges are the hardest to do, IMO. They tend to result in a horizontal pull across the top of each dagge. You already got good advice to gently round each edge-turn and to snip into the edge's seam allowance as close as you can to the sewing...
But snip cuts into all your seam allowances along the dagged area -- 1 inch or smaller between each one. Especially across the top portion of the crenellations. It'll help with that weird pull effect.
And iron the crap out of it. Good luck.
