finishing gauntlets

Post by Thomas Adler »

Hey all

So I have a Pair Of Clamshell gauntets - I just finished sewing the gloves into(Yes Sir Gaston, It only took me 2 years, Sad I know). The Gauntlets are lacking in a Bell? Not sure what its called, but the part that covers the wrist.

I was told I could do it in leather, I was hoping for some guidance as to design and size and thickness.

Thank you

You lack a cuff?

One of the cuffs fromt he mitten/clamshell gauntlet patterns in the archive ought to do you.

Thickest leather you can find unless your planning on putting splints behind it.

2 years? In a great weapon happy place like the Outlands? Glad it's squared away now. A great cuff/bell can be made from leather. I never felt the need for much thicker than 8oz, but it depends on what your vambrace is like.

I have a pair of fingered gauntlets with a leather cuff if you would like some pics i will take em so you can see the leather is thick definitly looks more than 8 oz. and it is sewn together with artificial sinew.
