It looks like it was made to SCA regs at first glance (who else uses bargrills?). At the current price, its almost worth taking a chance...

It looks like it could pass for a Macedonian phalangite's helm. Something about the shaping of the back of the skull, the cheek plates and the scroll-ends to the nasal band looks very Peter Connolly to me.

I bit the bullet, and put a bid in on it. If i win i will guage it and throw it on the loaner pile or sell it for what i got into it on here.

Its gone.
Just judging by what it looks like I would give it a 95% chance of being SCA legal. Not a bad risk at all for the money.

If one of you guys got it post a pic once you have it cleaned up.
