FS Bascinet Stainless Price Reduced! SOLD

Post by thegreatpavo »

Purchased this Stainless Steel Bascinet purchased from Hjamlr. Regretfully this "replacement" does not fit and Hjalmr will not replace or refund so I'm left holding the bill and a helm that doesn't fit.

Selling this helm for $90 plus shipping to you.

Helm has a 28" inner circumference at the crown. 8 1/2" wide and 11" deep at the opening.

Helm is both unpadded and unstrapped with no holes drilled.

How big is your head? (I ask for sizing purposes)

It is complicated. I've just decided to sell it myself and purchase from another armorer. Just need to get on it so I can start fighting hopefully by Jan-Feb

So, is it too big or too small with padding?

The circumference isn't the issue. Its pretty decent, could be a bit smaller, its the length of the helm. Once I bring the point of the helm padded it takes another 3" or so to pull it off my shoulders properly. It just doesn't sit well on my head, short head and short neck. Built like a lineman, both a blessing and a curse.

One would expect too big. 28" hat with 23" head. unless he's a fan of lots of padding.

Yeah its just big. This has been a hell of a thing trying to get a helm and fighting since July 1st. Now all that stands between me and stick is a helm that fits, getting rid of this will make a dent in that and to affording something in a higher price range built for me.

I have a helm that's too short for me from DVA. It's about 10" tall, I believe, and ends up going to my chin barely. I have a long neck, too, so I need a taller helm. It's the same style as listed on their main page. If you'd like to trade should they fit, I can take measurements of it?
