Beveling on an anvil
Beveling on an anvil
So I'm a newb and am looking for instructions on how to bevel on an anvil. Can someone please expalin how.

If you are truing to bevel a knife blade you want to hold it along the edge as mentioned and at an angle to the flat of the anvil face so that *both* sides (top and bottom) get beveled at the same time.
Note that as you bevel one edge the blade will curve away from it. If it's a two edged blade then doing the other side will straighten it back. For single edge blades you can 1: curve it the other way before starting and so have it go straight as you work it and/or every once in a while turn it up with the spine on the anvil and tap the edge to straighten it. (a chunk of wood can be used if you worry about hitting the edge on edge)
If this is not about bevelling a blade I sure wish you had said so before I typed all of this!
