looking for a meal plan outside of my camp

Post by freiman the minstrel »

Gentles,

I am looking for a meal plan for a camper that is in my camp at Pennsic.

We don't cook in camp. We don't have a meal plan. With a camp full of artists, this is a learned behavior.

I would like to arrange for him to get a good meal at least once a day. It is preferable that it is a styrowear/disposablewear feastgear situation.

It doesn't work unless the camp is in the High Meadows/traditional bog area.

Payment could be in cash delivered either before war by check or wire transfer (preferable) or in cash at war.

He's a great guy. He is an artist, so the current conditions have hit him a little harder than most.

He occasionally makes dirty jokes.

I would expect discretion and basic courtesy.

Is my camp too far away?

It's a thing we do. :)

Yeah, I was going to see if it an ok walk for the guy (Freiman knows where I camp so he can judge), then talk to Jakejakejake and see if he wouldn't mind since he's in charge of the food.

We always wind up with leftovers though and wind up shoveling them into the Lost Boys 9 times out of 10 anyways, so I figure why not?

Freiman-

Shoot Master Feral a line. We are feeding something like 40-ish 3 squares for about $100 USD for the War Week. That's an estimate.
This is a full-contact martial sport where twenty-year-old athletes can routinely get thrashed by fifty-year-olds with a gut and no knees

yeah, but Freiman's camp is basically as far from your camp as is humanly possible, and still be technically within Pennsic. (Though Louis De Leon's camp might be two feet further.. )

My group (E9, behind Enchanted Ground) does war week, usually starting 2nd Sunday, going through last Friday, informal breakfast for the unlucky parents who don't have a choice in being awake, usually come-and-go cold lunch and full sit-down dinner (usually not period food). But we don't let anyone eat off paper... we'd take care of that part.

I'd need to run it by the rest, but the real question is... what's his art? If he's also a minstrel, that goes a long way toward finding him food, I'd warrant. Nothing wrong with making period deals....

Lots of kids in my camp, but if we took him in, we'd also train him how to make dirty jokes in front of polite company and get away with it. ;)
Stuff I will trade for: PWM controllers, steel sheet/rod/bar (4130/410/1050/toolsteel), ITC, casting supplies, wood tools, silver, oxpho blue, gun stuff (9luger/357mag/12g/7.62x54R/22LR), hammers, stakes, or pitch me!

Shreiber,

He's a painter, and a really good one. He really is gifted, and his pieces express a beautiful sense of humor that always makes me smile.

If he was a minstrel, I wouldn't worry. It is hard to swap a sketch for dinner.

But then again, it is tough to ask a girl to pose nude for a song.

So, it's all a trade off.

We are kind of in flux right now. He is hoping for a job that would preclude war. It has been a rough period for him.

What I would need most is for him to not worry about food, and for nobody to say "well, you couldn't pay for your food..."

Because that simply isn't true. He made the responsible decision to stay home during a lean year, and his friends decided that he was worth paying for, so we decided that he was more valuable than anybody else.

We just don't have a meal plan.
