trying my hand at my first roman helm

Post by ruthardus »

since Roman is as diverse as kabuto's, any comments to suggest, correct, or change... or techniques that help would be greatly appreciated. The customer wants the helm black, and the accents bright polish silver, Used my bead roller to good effect on the brow band and back of the tail.

and a side view with the band clamped on and the ear piece just held in place with 2 nails ( since I'll add these after the bar grill and helm body is blackned.)

The shape looks good from the one image.

Talk the customer out of black -- I believe all of them were tinned in period - to a silver look.
