Jousting without a tilt
Are there any jousters out there that joust without use of a tilt, fence between the two riders?
Back when I first did it, we didn't use a tilt rail, AND we used thoroughbreds (fast) and not draft horses (slow). Quite frankly it takes a lot more focus and skill to do it that way so you don't a) hit the other person head-on or b) go so wide as to miss them altogether. Sometimes it took TOO much focus... so we eventually went to tilt rails.
Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Well, I can't speak for the rest of the crew here, but I'm impressed, Rod. Do you guys aim for each others shields? Are your helmets anchored to your body armour so your neck doesn't get strained on a hit?
