Northern CA, San Fran area SCA events On the 1st & 2nd. What

Post by Anradan MacEwan »

Hi there,

I will be travelling through Northern California on Friday the 31st of May. Staying in the General San Fran/Bay area for the weekend. Any good tourneys/wars events going on that would be open to an "outsider"? I will have my armour along so something with some fighting would be preferred.

Anyone have any sugesstions?

Well, if you are willing to travel an hour or so north to Santa Rosa, there will be the Invasion War on the first. Drop me an email if you'd like more info.

Unfortunatly, I have been looking at my luggage requirement for this extended trip... now I am not sure I will be able to bring the armour bag AND everything I NEED for my trip.

Hmmmm if I could only figure out how to fold my heater and wear the same clothes for ten business days.....

I found a duffle that my shield and sword fit in along with armour and had a second bag with 10 days clothes and a set of garb. Wasn't a weigth problem 'til I came back with 30 yards of wool that wasn't in the original load. Got dirty looks and big HEAVY stickers but it all came along.
You could skip the sheil, I'll be at Invasion and 'll have spare 2H weapons and you'd be welcome to use my shield.

Hi Alail,

I can normally pull this off no problem. I have one bag that my armour and shield/sword fits into. If that bag was bit larger I coould pack some other stuff in it also. This trip is a wee bit different. I also have to deal with a laptop, briefcase, brochures, giveaways etc. I will know better this afternoon when I actually start packing everything. I have to get everything into twp pieces of luggage and two carry-on bags. If I can pull it off, I will be at Invasion.

Thanks for the offer Alail.

Just wanted to extend a "thank-you" to Gypsy for the very generous offer.

I decided to tour the west cost instead though. It was a first time once in a looooong time chance for me.

There will be other wars.

The coast north of San Francisco is well worth exploring. Hope you had a good time.
