Updated Historic Combat Series Schedule

The Historic Combat Series

In Modo Antiquo

For the 13 days from Monday August 5, 2002 through Saturday, August 17, 2002 the Historic Combat Series will offer at least one opportunity to explore some aspect of medieval combat in a more in depth manner then is possible in typical SCA armoured combat, whether it be in format, appearance, or technique.

Here you go a whole bunch of combat with no acted wounds, combat where your armour gets to count, combat where actual historic rules will apply.

We talk about this all year long, now here is your chance to help make a change.

If you offered to make a prize, don't forget to bring it (I can use more prizes even now, armour, weapons, anything period is cool), if you want to marshal (and I need marshals) post it here and show up at Pennsic on time, or just show up at Pennsic, walk on help is encouraged.

I'd love to have a willing assistant or two volunteer to show up most of the days and help me set up.

But most of all participate, actually showing up and fighting in authentic tourneys is the only way we can hope to spread this idea across the SCA (and hopefully beyond).

Show up and Fight.

Asbjorn

Asbjorn,

It is people like you that have caused me, after an eight year hiatus, to return to the SCA. I am headed to Japan for nine months and will not be able to attend this year's Pennsic, but rest assured I will be there next year in full plate if you hold a similiar event.

Best of luck!

Asbjorn, I applaud your work. Were it that I could attend, even as a spectator, I would. May it be possible that someday I will be able to participate in this event.

Murdock,
I am not going to be able to make it too war. This sucks because I have been looking forward to this event since last Pennsic. I'd like to thank you for helping with this event. Once my wife and I get settled into our jobs I'll be able to participate again.
