Mostly I was just wondering what the price is on those sword hilts you were selling at Pennsic is and hoping to get a shipping estimate on one.

I second that! As soon as I can get some snugger gauntlets, I will be ALL over one of their Saxon sword hilts!

Most of the single handed hilts are $40-$45.

I'm not a part of BMHD, but I'll pass along Jamie's email

Does anyone that uses the hilts have a problem with snapping the rattan where the stick comes of of the quillion?

That is my only concern.

They look cool as hell and I have been thinking of ways to spice them up to look even cooler.

From what I've seen, as long as the rattan tapers into the hole and doesn't have a sharp 'shoulder' cut, they do okay. Eldric hasn't finished the sword for mine yet so I don't have any first hand experience yet.

I've been using one for a few years, and though it's not my everyday sword*, I've haven't experienced any problems w/ it other than rust.

* - avg. use per year = 6-9 events worth of abuse.

Eirik, I know you took some of his stuff to Pennsic. Have you considered carrying Jamie's stuff full time? You are certainly easier to get ahold of.

It would be really nice to see a By My Hand Design web presence. More than a few times I've Googled them over the years looking to go shopping! BMHD is a very nice group of folks that will patiently answer all your (stupid) questions, then hold a piece for a complete stranger while he runs back to camp for $$.
