Authenticity Police! Is that a basket hilt?? (in fun)

For those of us who wish to talk about the many styles and facets of recreating Medieval armed combat.

looks fun!

here is what SCA looks like to yield or out of the eric: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmPya4jHfj8

I think it would be much different with a steel weapon.

Another video of that tournament:

Seemed to me that pushing someone out of bounds was far more likely than convincing them to yield.

Devon...second sunniest part of England after Cornwall (yes the sun is out even when its raining...which it always is).

I'm with the IDC (check my sig), and I know your mate (and armourer) Matt B.

Maybe one day I'll meet someone who doesn't know him. I see you study fiore. Do you have any suggestions for reading material on his work? I'm interested in studying something that isn't German. Been looking at le jou de la hache (sp?) but have been interested in looking at fiore for a while now.

I'd say go with the original source, there are multiple translations online. Here are some of the ones we use: http://www.the-exiles.org.uk/fiore.htm. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with, and if you are ever down our way please look us up.
