WTB: Fiberglass Pike & Tips

Post by AlvarGuerrero »

I am putting a group order together for my local group and I was curious about what peoples opinions where of suppliers and the various models around.

1) What are the best tips to add to these (I have seen that some new tips are being considered but unsure if KEM in An Tir is looking at them or not).

2) Opinions on the break down option for these spears? Does it ruin the profile of the haft? A lot less durable?

3) Any advice on fiberglass pikes in general?

Thanks in advance for any help with this as always.

1. IMHO a haft is a haft. I use the tip from Mandrake via Windrose. It's almost idoit proof to put together. If money is an issue; beer coozies, foam, duct tape, strapping tape and elbow grease and your done.

2.Not sure about this question. the break down style that i have seen utilizes an internal solid rod to join the two pieces.

3. spears are awesome!!!!

Have you looked here for a spear kit? http://forums.armourarchive.org/phpBB2/ ... t=#1877902

You can get the fiberglass shaft (in snazzy woodgrain), and tip kit for a great price.

Break down spears have a bit of flex and a weak point in the center. I would avoid these unless you have no other choice.

Duke Logan and I have the generation II wood grain spears. They are very realistic looking, strong and light. They are only $30 online. We can also supply you with a one piece tip kit that includes all of the part you need to put your spear together including both PVC end caps, a hook and nylon reinforce.

We also carry the Mandrake 2 inch tip and are waiting to hear back on our 2 inch tip kit, made with the same engineering as our 3 inch tip.

You can find all of these items here:

Or on Duke Logan's armor site.

Cheers!
