Crown had a good turn out. The sad note was that Sir Bartholomew Hightower who was fighting for Lady Belladonna di Francia had to bow out due to the Lady Belladonna being very sick an could not travel. To share the email from HG Alan:

Just back from Sentinals Keep, and Crown Tourney.

The day started out raining, but shortly the rain relented, and by afternoon the sun was peeking out between the clouds. Pretty comfortable overall for fighting, and only a little cool for spectating. Good turnout for the event from the populace. 12 fighters entered the list. TRM's decreed that there would be a round robin, with the top four emerging to fight the semi-finals. That's eleven fights just to make the semi's, so the entrants worked hard and all got plenty of fighting. There was a three-way tie for 4th place, which HL Ronin won in a round robin. The semi-finals were matched weapons, with Ronin, Hauk, Timmur and Reinmar fighting for the finals. Finals was HG Reinmar and HL Ronin, and as you know, the victor was HL Ronin, now HRH Ronin.

The fighting was well done, and as good a Crown tourney as Artemisia has ever had. All competitors deserve a "well done". Congratulations to TRH Ronin and Clare. TRM's Morgan and Esebell can rest more easily now, knowing that They have Heirs. HRM Morgan assured TRM's Ronin and Clare that They would enjoy the Crown Prince and Princess position for many years to come....

New Bard of Artemisia is Sir Terrell, the new holder of the Shield of Chivalry is.......ssssssh! Don't spoil the surprise!

Sunday we awoke to about 2" of wet heavy snow (timing is everything!), but the roads were clear enough on routes south to 1000 Eyes.

It was great to see everyone, and again, congrats to all the Crown entrants for holding their honor high.
