Various patterns

Post by Otto »

I'm looking for a few patterns as I wish to add them to my general repetoire. I don't think they're in the pattern archive, but I'm going to check there again but any others are appreciated.

Note, if I like the pattern I'd probably use it or a modified version for sales production... so if you don't want that, don't give me the pattern.

Bauzabands
Spanish collar gorget
half gauntlets

Any help is appreciated

By "Spanish collar gorget" do you mean the large, deep, two-halves-front-and-back piece? That's no more than an enlargement of the typical SCA period-style gorget. Some of those guys would have qualified as mini breastplates, so comprehensive were they. For those, imitate the things you see in art of the period, and mock them up in tagboard and masking tape, fitted to you unless your personal torso is surpassingly odd.

The same goes for demigaunts: a metacarpal plate, wrapping around either edge of the hand and covering the base of the thumb. The cuff is a cone, and it may be cut away completely on the inside of the wrist. This is something you can make for yourself and with immediate success, after taping up a mock-up and getting the details down exactly.

Same story for bazubands. It hardly bears repeating. Mock your own up with tagboard, scissors, and tape.
