A few years ago a friend of mine was looking at fencing pics from one of the larger SCA wars (not Pennsic, but i dont remember where)and came across someone with our household's badge painted on their fencing mask. At Pennsic 39 I saw possibly the same mask laying by the rapier lists but it was crowded so I didn't bother trying to figure out who it belonged to. Later in the rapier woods battle there was a group of guys using the same device, but they were fighting for the other side so I rarely saw them.
The badge in question is a red scorpion on a colorless field, usually displayed on black.

Those are some of the Black Tigers, a rapier merc unit. I'm pretty sure I know the specific guy in question, who goes by Hadrurus (the genus of scorpion).

Re: who are these people?
Isn't there a barony in New Mexico with a Scorpion as their device?
Insane Irish
Quote: "Nissan Maxima"
(on Pennsic) I know that movie. It is the 13th warrior. A bunch of guys in armour that doesn't match itself or anybody elses, go on a trip and argue and get drunk and get laid and then fight Tuchux.
