Contest--Who has the Oldest Viking Leathercrafts Armor?

Post by VikingLeather »

Okay, I wanted to do something for fun. Now you have to prove this through pics and remind me where you bought it. Let's toss in a $25 gift certificate to the winner.

So who has the oldest Viking Leathercrafts armor either still on the field or in the closet? We have been doing this since 1985, just wanted to know how long some of this stuff is lasting. It is hard to get repeat customers when you build it too good ya know, lol.

Pics will tell me if I made it or not. I gave permission to Alan Bauldree to make some of the arms several years ago ( he tweaked the design a bit), and the design has been copied for several years by other folks. I did put it on the web, so not worried about that part. But if you take some pics of the full leather arms especially, I will be able to tell if I was the one that put them together.

Thanks for playing!

So, Who's first?

Man I have to go through my old armor box now, because I can lay claim to owning some of the first stuff you ever made but don't think I have any of it any more.

I could say that you probably would have some of the older stuff. Do you remember the Hairy Lorica? We made 2 of those. Found a side of hair on brown and black spotted leather and stripped it up for loricas for some sort of barbarian border raids I think. Someone told me a few years ago that they saw one at Pennsic, LOL.

Dig around Vebrand and see what you can come up with.

Let's put it this way Frank and I started the SCA and were in college together back in 1983/84. Helped me put together my first armor set in his dorm room. I will dig around after work and see what I still have left as I do pack rat some stuff.
