Update Moving and cannot have a shop anymore.

Post by Spence »

Hey folks I am moving in a few months and where I will be living is not blacksmith shop friendly.
Most of my tools where bought and never used because I was in the middle of setting up the shop when I found out the bad news.

TFS Smithy Special 400 lb anvil 1,750.00-------> this price is for the 300 lbs I paid well over $2400 for this anvil and it is is pristine condition.

Anvil is still for sale.

Swedish hammers
1000g (2.2 lb.) Peddinghaus Brand: $35.00 ---SOLD
1500g (3.3 lb) Peddinghaus Brand: $42.00 ---SOLD
2000g (4.4 lb) Peddinghaus Brand: $45.00 ---SOLD
Buy all the hammers together and it's $100.00 ---SOLD

Blacksmiths 3 ft leg vise $60

Beverly B3 shear in pristine condition, has only cut aircraft aluminum sheet and blade is nick free and sharp.
Comes with a nice tripod welded stand. You can unbolt the shear or keep it on the stand. $600 ---SOLD

I bought these from Hal and sad to say I never had the pleasure of using them.

Starter kit with Hal's bonus Y-Stake tool______$178.00 ---SOLD

Good Lord, man! Your loss is the buyer's gain, but...box these up or something! Let them be carefully stored, until you have a shop again. :(

Store the stuff you will find it difficult to replace later and those who have made dibs will understand.

Leg vises are usually described by how wide the jaws are with 4" jaws quite common and 6+ inch jaws rarer and coveted. Whether all the mounting parts are there makes a difference too. (and at 36" it sounds like the leg was shortened at some point as well.) However what I mainly look for is the state of the screw and screwbox as everything else is easily replaced, repaired or rebuilt compared to that.

Perhaps a more through description?

Hi Spence
What thickness is the Rock Wool? Is there a rating number or code on the packaging.

It is 2 inch x 24 inch wide Kaowool I believe it is RT #6.

I will look at it tonight when I get home but I know it is a full roll, I think it is about 12 1/2 feet of it.

Thanks
