ok, a while back i posted that i had some massive shoulder surgeries. it went well...but doc says shoulder is shot..all bone on bone.. but repaired the tendon, rotator and cut the end off my collar bone.
THIS has been the longest saddest 3 1/2 months of my life...doing everything left handed, and wanderin around the shop "straightening things up" and light cleaning, but no hammering. ive passed on ALOT of orders..but have taken the time to teach when i can. PT is very painful, but like everyone says..DO THE PT. as much as it hurt i was glad to finally get the ok to move the darn arm. cant lift it myself up above shoulder level yet, but can stretch it now without taking the lords name in vain.
In the past week ive recovered enough to make light forays into the shop and did some helm work...welded some bar grills and attached a few odds and ends to projects in stage when the surgery came about. felt real good like a small fire was rekindled in me...
I make no illusions, my first big build is a treadle hammer since major pounding is a no no for a long time. i have some friends helping ( cant be "apprentices" since the period police point out im only a silver hammer and not a laurel yet), for the forming and such, and it will be a slow start but Two Ravens Armoury will be up and taking new orders later in december, not in time for the tons of christmas orders, im sorry...

Am just coming out of the 'bone shaved and rotator repaired' misery. I can certainly feel your pain brother...in fact, I am feeling your pain =)
