Thanks Master Geoffrey!

Post by Morgan »

I just wanted to say, Master Geoffrey's site sells pretty inexpensive and nice gorgets. He even says that it's a high volume, low profit item, but he just wants people to be safe. The price on them is testiment to the fact that he's not making much on them. I was fighting at Estrella in my new gorget and armet. I took a spear shot to the throat. SQUARE on the gorget. Knocked me back 2 feet. I'm not tiny. I'm not HUGE, but I'm not tiny. I'm 240 OUT of armour. In armour, I've gotta weigh 285. So, that was a hell of a shot. I didn't even cough. Thanks, Geoffrey!

Morgan ...that is enough to protect you? I always assumed that it was safer to have a spanish style gorget...giving the combatent collar bone support

I fight greatsword and glaive. I'm not too worried about my collarbones. I don't know why. Image I guess I block this well enough. Image

What is your current kit type and period? I know you are an armour whore and all that's why I asked. Since it's too hard to keep track of what you fight in! Image

Heheh....well, that depends. Image The essense is "Early 16th Lowland Scot Nobleman."

Look at my website and that's about how I normally fight. At Estrella, just remove the close and put on a GAA gorget and a Sinric armet, drop the greatsword and pick up a 9 foot fiber spear. Viola, me at Estrella. Image

Krag is making me new knees that I'm going to attach to light uppers and then I'm going to work on a brigandine COP.

If you are intrested in a Visby CoP, Master Geoffrey makes a hell of a nice CoP kit. I purchased the basic kit and was very happy with the plates. I chose the basic kit because I already have solid brass rivets and I'm picking up the leather this weekend.
